Goods lift with attendant for Veth Propulsion
For Veth Propulsion in Papendrecht (the Netherlands), a specialist in azimuth thrusters and bow thrusters for ships, Hublift installed a 1,500 kg goods lift with attendant. The lift stands in a fully enclosed, self-supporting steel shaft with high-speed roller doors and was installed without a pit, using a 150 mm loading ramp.

01 · IN BRIEF
Project at a glance
What was built, where, and why, all in one place.
Client
Veth Propulsion in Papendrecht, specialised in azimuth thrusters and bow thrusters for ships, from offshore and dredging vessels to inland vessels and superyachts.
Lift type
Hydraulic goods lift with attendant: goods plus one accompanying person.
Shaft
Fully enclosed, self-supporting steel shaft in RAL 7016, 2,600 × 3,300 × 5,850 mm.
Doors
High-speed roller doors of 1,810 × 2,100 mm, integrated into the shaft.
No pit
No floor recess required: access via a 150 mm loading ramp.
Safety
2,000 mm high car with sensor edge, emergency communication, emergency lighting and locking pins at the upper floor.
02 · THE CHALLENGE
Control cabinets and components safely to the upper floor
Veth Propulsion wanted to move control cabinets and components safely between the ground floor and the upper floor, with an employee able to ride along as an attendant. The lift had to stand on the existing floor, without a pit, and be fully enclosed from the work area.
Client requirements
- Transport of control cabinets and components
- An attendant may ride along
- Installation without a pit in the floor
- Enclosed shaft with high-speed doors
03 · THE SOLUTION
An enclosed goods lift with high-speed roller doors
Hublift supplied a hydraulic goods lift with a double lifting column in a fully enclosed, self-supporting steel shaft. Because the lift was installed without a pit, control cabinets and components are wheeled onto the platform via a 150 mm loading ramp. The high-speed roller doors are integrated into the shaft, and the 2,000 mm high car allows an attendant to ride along safely.

04 · INSTALLATION AND INSPECTION
Installed without a pit, fully tested by our engineers
The fully enclosed, self-supporting shaft and the lift were assembled on site in Papendrecht on the existing floor. The control cabinet for the electrical and hydraulic components is located on the ground floor, within 2 metres of the lift. After installation, our engineers fully inspected and tested the lift.
