Industrial goods lift of 2,000 kg for heavy materials
Following the first goods lift for Märkisches Werk, a second one followed. Hublift replaced a lift from the 1940s with a 2,000 kg hydraulic goods lift featuring a self-supporting steel shaft, installed in the existing pit.

01 · IN BRIEF
Project at a glance
What was built, where, and why, all in one place.
Client
Märkisches Werk, a production company in the metal industry.
Assignment
The second lift replacement, on the other side of the building.
Old lift
Over 80 years old, from the 1940s.
Lift type
Hydraulic goods lift with self-supporting steel shaft.
Installation
In the existing pit and the partially old shaft.
Standard
Built according to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
02 · THE CHALLENGE
Replacing a lift from the 1940s
After the successful delivery of the first goods lift, a second order quickly followed. The old lift on the other side of the building also needed to be replaced.
The original lift from the 1940s could no longer safely handle the heavy work. A partial shaft remained, including a pit.
Client requirements
- Reuse of the existing pit
- Safe transport of heavy materials and pallets
- Between the basement and the ground floor
- Anti-drift protection
- Ready for intensive daily use
03 · THE SOLUTION
A self-supporting shaft within the old shaft
The old lift has been removed. In the partially old shaft, Hublift installed a new self-supporting steel shaft, containing a 2,000 kg hydraulic goods lift.
A hydraulic locking system prevents the platform from drifting. Chains and guide rollers between the guide rails ensure smooth, stable movement. With targeted structural adjustments around the lift, the workplace has been made completely safe.

05 · THE RESULT
Two modern goods lifts
Employees now also safely transport heavy materials between the basement and the ground floor on this side of the building. Märkisches Werk now has two modern, reliable goods lifts that suit their daily operations.
06 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about this goods lift
Can an old lift shaft be reused?
Often, yes. Here, Hublift placed a new self-supporting steel shaft in the partially old shaft and the existing pit.
What is a self-supporting shaft?
A steel shaft that supports itself. No concrete lift shaft is required. Read more about the goods lift with shaft.
How is drifting prevented?
With a hydraulic locking system. This keeps the platform in place.
Does the lift comply with the Machinery Directive?
Yes. The lift is built according to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
Need to replace an old lift too?
Hublift replaces outdated lifts, including those in existing shafts and pits. Tell us what is currently there, and we will come by for a no-obligation assessment.
