Goods lift for mezzanine in the new building of TRL Fulfilment
Result
To accommodate future growth, TRL Fulfilment moved into a new building. For this, Hublift delivered a goods lift with a self-supporting shaft, fully integrated into the mezzanine, in cooperation with Dexion.
Incoming goods are delivered on pallets and then stored in the pallet racks or moved to the correct floor on the mezzanine using the goods lift. The goods lift has a capacity of 1,000 kg and offers space for 2 (block) pallets, which can be placed side by side in the lift.
The total lifting height of the lift is over 9m across 3 stops. To ensure stability and prevent uncontrolled movement of the platform, it is equipped with electronic locking pins. This ensures that the platform is locked at the floor level during loading and unloading. In addition, it prevents any form of movement of the platform. By working closely with Dexion, Hublift is able to completely integrate the lift and the self-supporting steel shaft into the mezzanine and racking.

Application
For a new building in the Netherlands, TRL Fulfilment requested a goods lift in a completely enclosed self-supporting shaft. The design had to take into account the available space and the racking and mezzanine floors to be built.
The building is used by various employees who move goods with pallet trucks on both the ground and upper floors. To facilitate the flow of goods between floors, a goods lift had to be implemented. Reliability was also crucial, as the lift is used extensively. After visiting a reference customer of Hublift and consulting with Dexion, the right solution was designed.
Design
During the design phase, there was extensive contact with the racking manufacturer's engineers to determine the correct space for the lift. It was decided to integrate the lift at the front of the mezzanine into the racking. The available space was determined in consultation with Hublift engineers. After studying the drawings, several contacts were made with the client and the rack builder during the construction phase to verify the dimensions.
Ultimately, a design was chosen where 2 pallets can be placed side by side on the platform. This allows users to load and unload pallets from the lift quickly and easily. By equipping the lift with 2 lifting columns and fencing around the platform, safety and optimal stability are guaranteed. Thanks in part to the electronic locking pins, the platform is extra stable and free of movement when loading the lift on the upper floors.
The doors can take a beating and are easy for users to open. Despite the weight and thickness of the doors, every user can open them easily. Furthermore, the windows in the doors ensure that the goods in the lift are visible at all times.
Installation
The lift consists of several heavy components. These were installed in the correct position using a chain hoist attached to the roof. By working with a limited number of parts, movement of the shaft is prevented. This creates a solid shaft that can easily handle the 1,000 kg lifting capacity.
The installation of a lift of this size takes just over a week in total. Once the lift is installed, thorough tests are performed and all electronic components are tested. Safety is Hublift's top priority. After we are 100% certain of the safety and operation of the lift, it is handed over to the customer. The lift was put into use immediately as the relocation of goods from the old building began.
