02 · THE CHALLENGE
Goods upstairs, for authorised users only
After the fire, the building was refitted, with storage and offices on the upper floors. Goods and furniture had to go from the ground floor to the first floor.
Geste Groep uses an access control system for all rooms. The lift had to connect to it, so that only authorised users can operate it.

03 · THE SOLUTION
An integrated lift with access control
Hublift supplied a 750 kg goods lift with a self-supporting shaft. The shaft passes through the floor and lines up exactly with both floors. The design was agreed in close consultation with the construction manager.
Next to the control buttons is a reader for access control. The lift doors only open after a valid token is presented.

04 · INSTALLATION
Installed in just over a week
The heavy parts were lifted into place with a chain hoist fixed to the roof. Using only a few parts keeps the shaft solid, so it easily carries 750 kg.
After installation, everything was tested thoroughly. Only when safety and operation were 100% in order was the lift handed over. It went into use straight away.

07 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions about this goods lift
Can a goods lift be linked to an access control system?
Yes. At Geste Groep the lift is linked to Hikvision. A reader next to the buttons decides whether a user may open the doors.
How long does installation take?
For a lift of this size, just over a week. Everything is then tested thoroughly before the lift is handed over.
Is a pit needed?
Not necessarily. This lift stands on the ground floor. A ramp makes loading by hand or pallet truck easy.
What is a self-supporting shaft?
A steel shaft that supports itself, so no concrete lift shaft is needed. Read more about the goods lift with shaft.
